REDEFINE
Public Survey 2023
Two-Spirit, transgender, and nonbinary people in Canada often face discrimination in sexual and reproductive healthcare, partly due to language that assumes everyone is cisgender and heterosexual. Gender-inclusive language can help affirm identities, though its impact and acceptance are still debated.
This survey, from May to November 2023, explored how clinicians and service-users across Canada view gender-inclusive language (GIL) in sexual and reproductive health care.
